Dear Anderson Family,

I am Stephen Tyrone Cook, a native of Carrollton MS, the husband of Erma Louise Robinson-Cook, and the proud father of Endia and Syliva (Joshua). Just a little about me, I am a graduate of Vaiden High School, Class of 1987, Vaiden, MS. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History from Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS; a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. In 1999, I was appointed to serve Revels Memorial United Methodist Church in Greenville, MS. In 2008, I served Central United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS. In July 2015, I was appointed as District Superintendent of the West Jackson District of the United Methodist Church. In July 2022, in addition to the current West Jackson District, the MS Conference Cabinet embarked on an experiment. With this experiment, it afforded me the opportunity to be appointed as one of the seven superintendents to add oversight of a partial district, In November 2022, I became the East Jackson District Superintendent, along with continuing to serve the West Jackson District.

It is with great privilege and honor that I have been appointed to be your next Senior Pastor at Anderson United Methodist Church. With more than 20 years of faithful service as a United Methodist, my family and I are excited to share our message of God’s love for His people with our Anderson Family. We look forward to what God has in store for us on this magnificent journey.

As I enjoy some of my favorite activities such as music, reading, football, jogging, and basketball, my thoughts and prayers will not be far from this incredible journey of “Moving Forward: All In” together at Anderson!
